Session E will focus on current trends as far as the international conventions on cultural heritage and their incorporation within national law and their implementation by the States Parties. A special accent will be given to the implementation of law especially with respect to the laws dealing with the management of emergency situations.
Institutional reforms and the incorporation of international law within the national legislation are two key issues at stake when State Parties decide to ratify international convention including those focusing on cultural heritage. In addition, new trends introduced in cultural heritage management also imply the introduction of new laws that enable the enforcement of new policies aimed to improve the level of management within a framework of PPP agreements. The session as a result will address topics such as:
Institutional reform and Juridical action towards the implementation of international conventions and law; International Conventions and Humanitarian law in times of peace as in times of emergency; Embedding emergency management within daily practice to protect cultural heritage in everyday life.
